Zorica Pantić
Zorica Pantić is the past president of Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston, MA. She earned her bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Niš, Serbia. She was the first female engineer to lead a higher education institution of technology in the United States. She is a graduate of the Harvard Institute for New Presidents (2005) and Experienced Presidents (2010).
As an academic entrepreneur and a champion for diversity, she has made a positive impact at regional, state, and national levels. She has transformed Wentworth into a leader in engineering, technology, design, and management education. With six new graduate programs, Wentworth has achieved university status. Zorica is a strong supporter of built-environment programs at both undergraduate and graduate levels and has been instrumental in doubling the number of female students in these programs at Wentworth. Wentworth’s bachelor’s construction management program has been ranked number one in the U.S. by the College Factual.
Previously, she served as the founding dean of the College of Engineering at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and was director of the School of Engineering at San Francisco State University. She also was a Fulbright Fellow at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a faculty member at the University of Niš, Serbia.
