William W. Edgerton
William W. (Bill) Edgerton is a principal with Delve Underground, headquartered in San Francisco, CA. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from George Washington University.
From 1999-2011, Bill served as president of Jacobs Associates, directing strategic planning, business development, and administration, and serving in a technical capacity on various underground projects. Bill currently serves as the manager of tunneling for the DC Water $2.6 billion Clean Rivers Project in Washington, D.C. He is the immediate past chair of the executive committee for the Underground Construction Association, and served as 2021 President of the Society for Mining, Metallurgy & Exploration (SME).
He was recognized as the Outstanding Individual in the Underground Industry at the 2002 North American Tunneling Conference, received the Golden Beaver Award for Engineering in 2012, and was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Underground Construction Association of SME in 2022. He also has received several distinguished service awards from Tufts University, serves as a program evaluator for civil and construction engineering programs on behalf of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), and on the Committee on Accreditation Operations for ASCE.
Bill and Bonnie make their home in St. Inigoes, MD, and have one son and one granddaughter.
