William G. Dorey
William G. (Bill) Dorey is the retired CEO and president of Granite Construction Company, one of the nation’s largest publically traded heavy construction firms. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering from Arizona State University.
His career at Granite began in 1968 as an estimator trainee, and he held a variety of executive-level positions during his 42 years, including chief operating officer, executive vice president, senior vice president, and branch division manager. He has been a tireless proponent of maintaining high ethical standards, serving as the rounding chairman of the Construction Industry Ethics and Compliance Initiative.
Bill remains active with the Mineta Transportation Institute, the California Chamber of Commerce, and the California Business Roundtable. He is the recipient of the Outstanding Alumnus Award from the Dell E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University.
He is married to Joni, and they have four children. The couple resides in Carmel, CA.
