William W. Badger
William W. (Bill) Badger is professor emeritus of the Del E. Webb School of Construction at Arizona State University. Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Auburn University, a master’s in civil engineering from Oklahoma State University, and a PhD in soil mechanics from Iowa State University.
He had a successful 26-year career in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, serving in China, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Europe, and the U.S. He was the “The Engineer” for the United States Military Academy (1983-85), supervising the planning, engineering, construction, and maintenance of West Point. Arizona State University ranks first among construction management programs in research, in endowments, in scholarships, and in industry involvement.
He is a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama, past president of the Associated Schools of Construction, a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and served on the national board of the Construction Financial Management Association. He has established alliances with local industry, the Construction Industry Institute (CII), the Civil Engineering Research Foundation, the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER), and the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA). CII honored him in 2007 with its prestigious Richard L. Tucker Leadership and Service Award.
Bill is married to Janie, and they make their home in the Sun Lakes, AZ.
