Val Roberts is chief business officer for Longview Fusion Energy Systems, Inc., in Orinda, CA. She earned a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering from Arizona State University and a master’s degree in civil engineering from the University of New Mexico. At Longview Fusion Energy Systems, she is supporting the company in its efforts to commercialize inertial confinement fusion power plant solutions to the energy market. Her work involves strategic and financial planning to secure funding. Previously she had domestic and international executive positions with Jacobs, culminating in her position as senior VP for the firm’s Critical Mission Solutions. Val is known as a highly skilled strategic professional who has led some of the most complex projects ever undertaken that relate to the national security of the U.S. and the UK. A role model for women and a mentor to young professionals, she has been honored many times, including Woman Constructor of the Year by the National Association of Women in Construction. In 2018, Arizona State University honored her as a member of the ASU Del E. Webb School of Construction, Academy of Distinguished Alumni.
