Anthony S. Bartolomeo
Anthony S. (Tony) Bartolomeo is the former president and CEO of Pennoni Associates, now retired. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil/urban engineering from the University of Pennsylvania. With more than 30 years' experience in environmental engineering, he has worked in developing relationships at the federal, state, and local government levels.
In 2014, Tony received the Philadelphia Business Journal Outstanding Director Award for his work as past chairman of the board of the World Trade Center of Greater Philadelphia (WTCGP). Under his direction, the WTCGP assisted companies in generating over $1 billion in increased export sales and in creating more than 12,500 jobs. He spearheaded the development of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Grand Challenge, a call-to-action for the civil engineering profession that has established goals of reducing the nation’s infrastructure lifecycle costs by 50 percent by 2025 and optimizing infrastructure investments. For this effort he received the ASCE President's Award.
Tony is known for encouraging young people to attain 21st Century skills and post-secondary education. He also is a leader in community and nonprofit organizations. He is a Licensed Engineer in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Delaware, and an ASCE Fellow. He is certified as an Envision Sustainability Professional by the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure.
