Tom Shelby is president, Kiewit Energy Group, Inc., in The Woodlands, TX. He earned a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Purdue University and an MBA and a master’s in quantitative analytics from Arizona State University. Tom also serves on the Kiewit board of directors and the Kiewit executive committee.
At Kiewit Energy, he leads the company’s energy, construction, and engineering businesses, and has helped make his firm one of the top companies in North America. He is recognized as one of the global leaders in energy, and has taken Kiewit into new and important markets in power, oil, gas, and chemical work over the last decade. He is responsible for over $4 billion in Kiewit work in North America, Australia, and Mexico, has expanded the company’s engineer-procure-construct contract work in the gas and power sector, and has led the company to the number one ranking in this sector by ENR.
Tom also is a strong advocate for worker safety and has helped bring the company’s Nobody Gets Hurt philosophy to others in the industry. He annually lectures at Purdue University to construction management and engineering students. Purdue has recognized him with its Distinguished Alumni Award.
