Thomas J. Groark
Thomas J. (Tom) Groark is retired executive director of The Moles.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Manhattan College and a master’s in civil engineering from Columbia University. Tom has over 35 years of construction management and major project experience, including underground/tunnel work, major mass transit rail projects, and building construction.
He began his career with Morrison Knudsen, working on Washington, D.C., Metro tunnels and the Deep Tunnel Project in Chicago. He returned to his roots in New York City and worked on Metropolitan Transit Authority projects before joining the Port Authority of NY and NJ. At the Port Authority, he became the deputy chief engineer and administered reconstruction projects on the Path Subway, the Newark Liberty International Airport Monorail, the JFK Light Rail Project, the World Trade Center, and the restoration of the Path Subway to the World Trade Center. Tom currently is executive director of The Moles. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and serves as a board member of the ASCE Construction Institute.
