Thomas A. Gelormino
Tom Gelormino is president of Vet’s Explosives, Inc. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an MBA from Syracuse University.
In a career that stretches almost 50 years, he is widely known and respected for his expertise and leadership in the explosives segment of the engineering and construction industry. After 9/11, he headed the Explosives Security Committee, and also helped develop seismic standards for blasting to protect infrastructure during the reconstruction of the World Trade Center. Tom served as director of the Institute of Makers of Explosives for 20 years, leading the organization that establishes standards for explosives worldwide.
Tom holds a patent for using radio frequency identification to serialize and track explosives, preventing these materials from getting into the wrong hands. He has been a member of The Moles for 25 years, and was a training instructor for 30 years for the Connecticut State Police for regulation of commercial explosives. He is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Deep Foundation Institute, and the European Federation of Explosive Engineers.
