Russell Clough worked as a infrastructure contractor for thirty years, then taught at Stanford University for sixteen years. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Stanford, and is a registered Civil, Geotechnical, and Safety Engineer and licensed contractor in California.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and had extensive experience in the construction field. Consequently, he brought those values and experiences into the classroom, which earned him a reputation as a well respected professor in the construction industry nationwide. His industry experience includes tunnel, dam, and highway projects, project planning, design review, and dispute avoidance and resolution. He was able to effectively relate his knowledge of the technology involved in heavy construction, along with his creativity in planning and his interpersonal skills, to create a unique classroom experience.
His classes, work, and dispute resolution experiences provide a keen understanding regarding the different perspective of designers, contractors, and other project stakeholders. Consulting now, Russell has visited over 500 projects around the world and has served as a mediator, been on about 100 dispute review boards, and teaches industry classes for various parties.
