Robert Bittner
Robert (Bob) Bittner is president of Bittner-Shen Consulting Engineers, Inc. He holds bachelor and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Stanford University. He is a Registered Civil Engineer in six states.
He began his career with Pomeroy Gerwick and Santa Fe International in 1969 as a project engineer. Over the ensuing four decades, he rose to be executive vice-president of Riedel International in Portland, OR, and president of Riedel Environment Ltd. in Taiwan. He then became general manager, Europe/Middle East, for Morrison Knudsen Corporation. In the mid-1990s, he became president of Ben C. Gerwick, Inc., and has been head of his own firm since 2009.
Bob is the recipient of the Engineering Award for Outstanding Achievement in Heavy Engineering Construction from the Beavers, of which he is a member. He also is involved in the Deep Foundation Institute, serving as president in 2013 and as editor of the DFI publication, Deep Marine Foundations—A Perspective on the Design and Construction of Deep Marine Foundations.
Bob and his wife, Diane, make their home in Portland, OR.
