Raymond Issa
Raymond Issa is a distinguished professor and director of the Center of Advanced Construction Information Modeling at the University of Florida’s M.E. Rinker, Sr. School of Construction Management. He earned bachelor’s, master’s, and PhD degrees in civil engineering from Mississippi State University and a JD from the University of Memphis. Raymond teaches in the areas of digital twins, building information modeling/virtual design and construction (VDC), artificial intelligence/machine learning, construction management, and construction law. He is a Fellow of ASCE and served as editor-in-chief of the ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering. ASCE recently honored him with the Torrens Award, which recognizes editors who have made significant contributions to ASCE journals and magazines. He also is the recipient of the ASCE Computing in Civil Engineering Award. He is a member of the Pan American Academy of Engineering and the National Center for Construction Education and Research Board of Directors. Recently, his team secured a multi-million dollar grant from UF and Autodesk to conduct research as well as develop courses in industrialized construction.
