Richard S. Weeks
Richard S. (Rich) Weeks is chairman and CEO of Weeks Marine, Inc. in Cranford, NJ. He earned a BS degree from Johns Hopkins University, a master’s from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (a division of Johns Hopkins University), and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Prior to his college studies, Rich worked for the original Weeks Marine, known as Weeks Stevedoring, in 1970. The company itself was founded in 1919. After obtaining his MBA, he joined the company full time and worked in a broad range of field capacities in the New York area. In the 1980s, Rich focused on developing Weeks Marine’s construction business, particularly in a series of important and historical acquisitions that dramatically increased the company’s presence in the dredging and marine construction businesses. He is a past president of The Moles and a past president of the Dredging Contractors of America.
He and his wife, Candace, have three children and live in New Vernon, NJ. In New Vernon, Rich has served as an EMT with the first aid squad and is active in the Presbyterian Church of New Vernon.
