Richard Kunnath
Richard (Rik) Kunnath is the current president of the Charles Pankow Foundation. He holds a BS degree in civil engineering from the University of Detroit. Rik was named Engineering Alumnus of the Year by his alma mater, the University of Detroit Mercy College of Engineering & Science.
He joined Pankow in 1979 and now has more than 30 years with the company, a widely recognized firm in integrated project delivery techniques. In 1993, Rik was among a handful of practitioners who founded the Design-Build Institute in Washington, D.C. He served as its national chairman in 1995. He is a frequent speaker to industry groups and universities, and his topics include trends affecting the design and construction industry, alternative delivery methods, and innovation in construction.
He currently is a member of Lambda Alpha International, the Honorary Society for the Advancement of Land Economics, and also has served as on the board of directors of SPUR (San Francisco Planning and Urban Research Association). Rik is a Registered Civil Engineer, a Licensed Contractor, and a real estate broker in numerous states.
He and his wife, Linda, have one son and one granddaughter.
