Richard J. Haller
Richard J. (Rick) Haller is retired president and COO of Walbridge, a comprehensive construction firm based in Detroit, MI. He holds a BS in civil engineering from the University of Michigan. He currently is a member of the National Advisory Council in the University of Michigan College of Engineering.
Rick also is board chairman of the Greater Detroit Area Health Council as well as a board member of the Horace Rackham Foundation. He joined Walbridge in 1976 as an estimator/project administrator and worked progressively through positions including group vice president and executive vice president before being named as president of the company in 1997. The firm grew from annual sales of $40 million in 1976 to $1.4 billion in 2012.
Rick served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Active Reserve from 1972-1981 and achieved the rank of captain. He served as president of the Engineering Society of Detroit from 2007-2008. The Engineering Society inducted him into its College of Fellows in 2011. Also in 2011, he served as chair of the Construction Industry Institute. He is a member of the board of trustees of Siena Heights University in Adrian, MI.
He and his wife, Debbie, have two sons. The couple lives in Ann Arbor, MI.
