Richard T. Anderson
Richard T. (Dick) Anderson is retired president of the New York Building Congress. He earned a bachelor of arts degree in economics and city planning from Rutgers University and a master’s of regional planning from Cornell University. He completed all of his coursework for a Doctor of Public Administration at New York University.
His early career was with the Regional Plan Association, Inc., including the presidency from 1989-1992. He served as executive director of the Dallas Plan from 1993-1994 prior to his role with the New York Building Congress.
Richard has been active in professional and community affairs and has received awards for his distinguished service. Athletics has played a big part of his life. He was on the Rutgers lacrosse team, coached as a graduate student at Cornell, and has run in 18 marathon races.
Richard and Anne have two children and six grandchildren.
