Raymond O'Connor
Ray O’Connor is president and CEO of Topcon Positioning Systems, Inc., in Livermore, CA. He also is president of the Positioning Operating Company, one of three companies that form Topcon Corporation, Tokyo, Japan, where he serves as senior managing executive officer.
Topcon Positioning Systems includes more than 30 operations located in 15 countries on five continents. It employs more than 2,000 people engaged in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of precision measurement and workflow solutions for the global construction, geospatial, and agriculture markets.
In 2006, Ray was the first non-Japanese recipient of the Toshiba Corporation Business Performance Award for his “superior leadership and performance” in creating a leading market share for Topcon positioning products in the global civil engineering and construction markets. He holds an honorary doctorate from his alma mater, the Dublin Institute of Technology (Ireland) and was named Geospatial Business Leader of the Year for 2012. In 2013, he became the youngest inductee into the Association of Equipment Manufacturers Hall of Fame, which recognizes outstanding individuals in the off-road equipment industry, and their legacy of innovation, service, and leadership.
