Peter W. Marshall
Peter W. Marshall had six different commands, including serving as director of the Ocean Facilities Program at the Naval Facilities and Engineering Command (NAVFAC) headquarters, and five tours of duty with the Seabees. He holds a BSc in civil engineering from Tufts University and a master’s in ocean engineering from the University of Rhode Island.
More than half of his military career involved ocean and underwater R&D, construction, and repair projects. He served as diving officer and ocean engineer in the NAVFAC Ocean Facilities Program and led dive teams for quality assurance inspections of piers, caissons, and electronic equipment installation at various Navy facilities.
Since retiring from the Navy in 2000, he has served as corporate officer for Parsons Brinckerhoff, Burns and Roe, and Dewberry, and as a panel member of the National Academy of Public Administration and the National Research Council (NRC). He is a member of the NRC Board on Infrastructure and the Constructed Environment (BICE) and currently chairs the Federal Facilities Council. He is a Fellow of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) and the National Academy of Public Administration.
Peter is married to Diane Horowitz, and has a married son and two grandchildren.
