Norbert W. (Norb) Young, Jr., is managing director of Duck Cove Associates, LLC. He holds a baccalaureate from Bowdoin College and a master’s of architecture from the University of Pennsylvania. He grew up in Maine, and both his mother and his father were teachers.
He spent prior years as a partner of the Toombs Development Company and as a practicing architect. He is a Registered Architect in Pennsylvania and Maine. Norb has been active in the American Institute of Architects (AIA), the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), the Urban Land Institute, the Construction Users Roundtable (CURT), the ACE Mentor Program, and many other professional organizations. He also has been involved in several committees for the National Research Council and has received several recognitions, including the Henry Michel Award from the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
Norb and Christine have been married for 39 years and are a family of two careers. Christine had a career as a medical publisher and is now a landscape architect. They have a cottage in Bass Harbor, ME, where they have a hobby of building stone walls and enjoying their lobster yacht.
