Michael T. Traylor
Mike Traylor is co-president and co-chairman of the board of Traylor Brothers, Inc. in Long Beach, CA. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and geology from Duke University. He joined the family-owned company in 1991 as a field engineer in the bridge and marine division. He moved into the firm’s underground division in 1997, managing underground projects, including four major tunnels in Los Angeles. He later managed tunneling projects in New York City and in Seattle.
Mike is a founding member of the Construction Industry Safety Initiative (CSIS), a group of companies responsible for holding a Safety Week nationwide each May. He also is a founding member of the Construction Industry Ethics & Compliance Initiative.
He is active in several industry associations, is the 2017-18 president of the Beavers, and has served on the board of the Beavers since 2008. He chaired the first Student Day Committee, leading the Beavers’ efforts to host students at project sites so they better understand the opportunities in the construction industry. Mike is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and The Moles.
