Michael D. Bellaman
Michael Bellaman is president and CEO of Associated Builders and Contractors in Washington, D.C. He has been in his current position since 2011. He holds architectural engineering and construction management degrees from Penn State University, where he also was a varsity athlete on the Penn State baseball team.
Prior to his association with ABC, he was with Bovis Lend Lease. He began there in 1990 as a project engineer, rising in 2008 to become CEO of Bovis Lend Lease US. Michael is a principle-centered business leader with international experience in real estate as well as construction. He has led organizations throughout his career in start-up ventures, acquisitions, strategic alliances, and supply chain engineering. He is heavily involved in developing the next generation of leaders in the construction industry, particularly in the workforce area.
To that end, he has served as a trustee for GO BUILD, an initiative that seeks to enhance the image of the construction industry and inform young people, educators, and parents about the opportunities in the skilled trades. He has been a national board member of the ACE Mentor Program and co-founded the Construction Coalition for A Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.
