W. Scott McNary
Scott McNary is principal engineer for McNary Bergeron and Associates, LLC. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in structural engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He began his career at Figg and Muller Engineers in 1984.
He is a founder of two engineering firms, Finley McNary Engineers, Inc. and McNary Bergeron & Associates, LLC. His firms have specialized in the design and construction of many significant bridges built in the U.S. and the world. During his 36-year career as a bridge engineer, he has personally led the construction engineering effort on marquee projects such as the Natchez Trace Parkway Bridge in Tennessee, the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tilman Memorial Bridge at Hoover Dam, which is the world’s highest concrete arch bridge, and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge Skyway Segment. He has served on the CU Boulder Civil Engineering Advisory Board, on the executive board for the American Segmental Bridge Institute, and the board, the executive board, and the Pillars Strategic Board for Bridges to Prosperity.
He has been recognized by ENR as a Newsmaker and received the Leadership Award twice from the American Segmental Bridge Institute. In 2018, CU Boulder honored Scott as a Distinguished Engineering Alumnus.
