Mark Federle
Mark Federle is associate dean for academic affairs at Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. He lead the construction engineering program and was the McShane Chair of Construction Engineering and Management at Marquette. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a master’s (engineering) and a PhD (civil engineering) from the University of Michigan.
Mark is a leader in construction engineering education in the U.S. He led the construction engineering program at Iowa State University before joining the Weitz Company for a ten-year period, when he served as the company’s chief information officer, reporting to the CEO. He then was selected to start up the construction engineering program at Marquette, where he has been a tenured professor since 2008.
He has been recognized for his outstanding contributions by academics, by students, and by industry. Both Iowa State and Marquette have recognized him as an outstanding educator and mentor, and he received the career achievement award from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology. He is a Fellow in the American Society of Civil Engineers, and has worked with notable distinction with the Engineers Without Borders.
