Mark A. Casso
Mark A. Casso is president of the Construction Industry Round Table (CIRT), which is composed of CEOs from leading architectural, engineering, and construction firms doing work in the U.S. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from the University of Maryland and a JD degree from Brooklyn Law School. He is responsible for CIRT’s leadership and management. He is the creator and has been the driving force for over a decade of CIRT's National Design & Construction Competition for ACE Mentor student teams.
Previously, he served as the deputy executive vice president and general counsel for the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC), a national business trade association of over 5,000 consulting engineering firms. Mark also was director of government affairs with the American Institute of Architects national headquarters. Prior to pursuing his career with the design/construction community, he was an associate with a Washington, D.C., law firm specializing in international trade and custom law.
Mark has participated on numerous boards, including the American Tort Reform Association Board and the ACE Mentor Program of America.
He is married to Julie, and they have two children. He is an experienced coach in both baseball and football. He recently has found expression in oil painting.
