Margaret (Maggi) Walker
Margaret R. (Maggi) Walker retired from Dow in 2011 as vice president of engineering solutions, technology centers, and manufacturing and engineering work process. During her 36-year career at Dow, she established herself as the leader of one of the finest project delivery organizations in the world. Her career with the company began in 1974 as a research engineer. From 1976 to 1992, she served many roles in Manufacturing Operations. !992 brought about an experience in Supply Chain. In 1995, she was charged with creating a new business for Dow, Contract Manufacturing Services. She returned to Operations in 2001 as director of Dow Process Automation, Work Process, and Learning for Manufacturing and Engineering. She took on additional responsibilities in 2003 for Dow’s technology centers, process safety, and design and construction.
Presently, Maggi is a member of the Board of Directors for Methanex Corporation, serving on the Human Resources and Responsible Care Committees. She also is a member of the Board of Directors of Independent Project Analysis, Inc. . In 2021, Maggi joined the Board of Directors for ioneer, serving on the Audit and Risk Committee and the Project Execution Committee. Maggi humbly, proudly serves as President of the National Academy of Construction.
She has been honored as a Distinguished Engineer from her alma mater, Texas Tech University. She received the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association (SOCMA) Leadership Award and chaired the SOCMA Board of Governors. Maggi also was awarded the prestigious Genesis Award by Dow, the company’s highest recognition for leadership, and is the recipient of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Management Division Award. She is a Member of the National Academy of Construction.
Known for her infectious leadership style, Maggi has inspired and helped to develop those around her, men and women alike.
She is married to Don, and they have two sons and one precious grandson.
