Leo A. Vecellio, Jr.
Leo A. Vecellio, Jr., is chairman, president, and CEO of Vecellio Group, Inc., which has substantial heavy/highway, mining, and petroleum operations throughout the southeastern and mid-Atlantic U.S. He earned construction and engineering degrees from Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech and joined the firm in 1973.
He has served as chairman of the American Road & Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) and its Transportation Development Foundation. He also is on Florida's Council of 100 and a member of the Florida Transportation Builders Association (FTBA). He is a founder of West Virginia's Flexible Pavements Council and is active in the state's contractors association.
Leo is the recipient of the prestigious American Road & Transportation Builders Association Award, ARTBA’s highest honor, and its Nello L. Teer, Jr., Contractor Award. He has been inducted into the Virginia Tech Academy of Distinguished Alumni and its Academy of Engineering Excellence; the Georgia Tech Academy of Distinguished Engineering Alumni; the West Virginia Academy of Civil Engineers; and the Florida Transportation Builders Association Hall of Fame.
