Kirankumar V. Topudurti
Kirankumar (Kumar) Topudurti is a senior vice president at Willdan Group, Inc. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and a master’s degree from Indian Institute of Technology - Kanpur (both in civil engineering), and a PhD in environmental engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology. He is responsible for delivering operational excellence and innovation on several nationwide energy efficiency, electrification, and decarbonization programs. From 2002-2021, Kumar served in several research and executive leadership capacities with the Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL) for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), the final two years as CERL interim director. Prior to that, he served as a senior technical fellow and principal technical advisor at Tetra Tech.
A Distinguished Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and a Fellow of the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), Kumar is a registered Professional Engineer (Illinois) and a Diplomate Environmental Engineer of the American Academy of Environmental Engineers and Scientists (certified through eminence pathway).
Other additional honors Kumar received include the Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service Award from the Secretary of the Army, the Lt. Gen. John W. Morris Civilian of the Year Award from USACE, US Environmental Protection Agency Science Advisory Board Member, US delegate to former Soviet Union to assess and address environmental impacts of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident, and Federal Engineer of the Year Award from the NSPE.
