R. Kerry Rowe
Kerry Rowe is University Distinguished Professor and Canada Research Chair, Queen’s University, Canada. He earned two bachelor’s degrees, a PhD, and a doctorate from the University of Sydney. His advances to research and practice and award-winning contributions in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering deal with design and construction, technical literature, education, and professional leadership.
A pioneer and author in the fields of geoenvironmental engineering and geosynthetics, Kerry is one of the most highly cited geotechnical engineers in the world and is in demand as a keynote lecturer and advisor worldwide. His contributions have impacted the construction of bored piles in soft rock, tunnels in soft soil, reinforced embankments on soft soils, and waste disposal facilities. A recipient of numerous awards, his prestigious lectures include the Rankine and Karl Terzaghi Lectures.
His contributions to environmental geotechnics have been recognized by the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) with its R.
