John L. Kolaya
John Kolaya is president of Kolaya Associates. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Bucknell University and a master’s in civil engineering from Rutgers University.
During his 45-year career in construction he has managed numerous heavy construction projects, including major East River bridges, complex foundations, major rail reconstruction projects, and rescue and cleanup after 9/11 at the World Trade Center. He is dedicated to improving the industry and assisting others in their careers in construction.
He is a lecturer at Bucknell University and Manhattan College, a mentor in the ACE Mentor Program, and helped develop programs to certify minority and women owned businesses. He is a past president of The Moles and served as its 75th Anniversary Chairman. He also is a Life Member and Lecturer of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). He is a Professional Engineer (NY and NJ) and received the Bonhag Award for Professional Engineers in Construction in New Jersey.
His Rock Steady Boxing Club is extremely helpful to patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease. He is a past chair and foundation member of the Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center.
