John M. Dionisio
John M. Dionisio is emeritus chairman of AECOM, where he worked for over 35 years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from City College of New York and a master’s of civil engineering from NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering. During his career at AECOM, he held various executive and management positions and has been involved in some of the world’s most notable heavy civil engineering projects.
John is a major advocate for Transportation Partnership for Tomorrow, an American Public Transportation Association program that aims to build public and government support for increased investment in public transportation. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in four states, is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), and is a member of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME), APTA, and CCNY.
In 2006, he was selected as Engineer of the Year for the ASCE Metropolitan New York Section. In 2008, he received an American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) Award for Lifetime Achievement in Management.
John and Rose have been married for 38 years and have two grown children: Michelle is a structural engineer with Thornton-Tomasetti and John works for an investment company in Paris.
