John D. Borcherding
John D. Borcherding is president of Borcherding Enterprises, Inc., and is an adjunct professor in The University of Texas at Austin Cockrell School of Engineering Construction Engineering and Project Management (CEPM) Program. He holds a BS degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri, and master’s and PhD degrees from Stanford University.
John has been described as one of the most knowledgeable researchers and consultants in productivity improvement and has authored several groundbreaking papers on the subject. He has held more than two dozen offices in industry groups such as the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Project Management Institute, the Construction Industry Institute (CII), the American Society of Engineering Education, the American Arbitration Association, and others.
He is an expert witness in construction, has been named speaker of the year by the American Association of Cost Engineers, and has won numerous awards from both academia and industry. He has consulted with over 500 companies on worker productivity, behavior and motivation, construction claims, and scheduling and control. His leadership and service over the past four decades have forever influenced construction industry research and education.
John is married to Connie, and they have a daughter, Jackie, and a son, Chad.
