Russell

Jeffrey S. (Jeff) Russell is the vice provost for lifelong learning and dean of the Division of Continuing Studies at University of Wisconsin-Madison. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati and master’s and PhD degrees from Purdue University.

Jeff is a Registered Professional Engineer in Wisconsin. He has supervised 19 PhD and 45 master’s graduates throughout his career. He has been active in many professional organizations, was recognized by the American Society of Civil Engineers as a Distinguished Member in 2009, and became a Fellow in the National Society of Professional Engineers in 2011.

In 2014, the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) recognized him with its Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) Award for his extraordinary contribution to civil engineering over his 25-year career. Jeff has published nearly 200 articles and technical reports, as well as two books.

He is married to Vicki, and they have five children. The family lives in Madison, WI.
