James E. Diekmann
James E. (Jim) Diekmann is professor emeritus at the University of Colorado-Boulder. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a masters in engineering management from the University of Missouri at Rolla. He earned a PhD from the University of Washington.
He has been professionally active in the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), the Construction Industry Institute (CII), and the Colorado Construction Council, and has served on editorial boards of several journals. He has performed considerable research in project risk evaluation and alternative dispute resolution.
Jim and Barbara have six children and five grandchildren, who live in six different locations. They enjoy skiing, backpacking, hiking, and fly fishing. They also have traveled considerably and are working to develop a “historical perspective” of construction practices. They live in Lafayette, CO.
