Howard W. Ashcraft, Jr.
Howard Ashcraft is a partner at Hanson Bridgett LLP in San Francisco, CA. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and a JD degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He has been the lead partner on large, complex construction litigation in the U.S. and abroad. He currently heads Hanson Bridgett’s Construction Section.
He was subcommittee chair for the National Building Information Modeling (BIM) Standard V1 and V2 and a member of the American Institute of Architects, California Council (AIACC) Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) Task Force. He co-wrote the AIACC standards for IPD as well as the Pankow Foundation IPD Action Guide, and the textbook, Integrating Project Delivery. Along with his team, he has structured over 160 IPD projects across North America and Europe.
He is a Fellow of the American College of Construction Lawyers, a member of the Lean Construction Institute, a Fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and an Honorary Member of the AIA California Council. He has served as an adjunct at Stanford University and a module leader in program management graduate studies at the Saïd School of Business, Oxford University.
