Harold H. Yoh
Harold H. (Hal) Yoh has been leader of Day & Zimmermann for the past 16 years. Hal earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and material sciences from Duke University and an MBA from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
During his tenure, Day & Zimmermann has tripled in size and has received numerous awards, including National Family Business of the Year. Hal’s grandfather founded the company in 1901, and today brothers Hal, Mike, and Bill represent third generation family ownership.
His high energy level and positive attitude have helped to crystallize his efforts in Day & Zimmermann and in the industry into a widely recognizable leadership style. Nowhere is that more evident than in his longtime efforts with the Construction Industry Institute (CII). He pushed hard, within his company and within the CII membership, to promote the key values CII holds: safety, front-end planning, and teamwork. These values are also ones that Hal endorses, and they were in the forefront of his service to CII on every committee on which he served, be it executive, academic, finance, benchmarking, or strategic planning.
He is married to Sharon.
