Walsh

Gina Walsh is deputy director of the Labor Management Cooperative Trust for the International Association of Heat & Frost Insulators and Allied Trades in Wentzville, MO. Her background includes expertise in labor-management relations, political strategy, legislative affairs, and public relations on behalf of organized labor. She began her career as a heat and frost insulator apprentice and attained journeyman status. In 2003, she was elected as a state representative to the Missouri General Assembly and in 2010 was elected as a Missouri state senator. She last served in the Missouri Senate in 2021. In more than 20 years of public service she helped to establish a statewide advanced health care directive registry, strengthened cybersecurity protections for school- age children, and advanced legislation to protect victims of sex trafficking, domestic violence, and sexual assault. From 2013-2020, she was president of the Missouri State Building & Construction Trades Council (AFL-CIO), where she promoted higher wages, better hours, and safer working conditions. She also serves on the North America’s Build Trades Union Tradeswomen Committee. The NABTU has honored her as a Tradeswoman Hero.
