Paul M. Goodrum
Paul Goodrum is a professor and head of the Department of Construction Management at Colorado State University. He holds a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Washington and master’s and PhD degrees in construction engineering and project management from The University of Texas at Austin. He teaches courses in the area of productivity improvement, construction methods, and building information modeling. His research in construction productivity has recently evolved to explore demographics as well as workforce strategies to ensure that future projects have enough qualified craft professionals on their jobs.
Paul’s research has been funded by a combination of federal, state, and industry agencies, including the National Science Foundation, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the National Cooperative Highway Research Program, Federal Highway Administration, Colorado Department of Transportation, the Construction Industry Institute (CII), the Electrical Contracting Foundation, the National Center for Construction Education and Research, the American Society of Safety Engineers, and the Center to Protect Workers’ Rights. Among his many recognitions and honors for teaching and research, he has been the recipient of the CII Outstanding Researcher Award twice. Paul is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Kentucky.
