Gary Lee Moore
Gary Moore is the former city engineer for the City of Los Angeles, CA. He holds an engineering degree from UCLA and completed executive management programs at the Harvard Kennedy School and at the Anderson School, UCLA. Gary retired from his position in 2022 after 37 years of dedicated service to the City of Los Angeles. From 2015-2022, he was a director of the Institute for Sustainable Infrastructure, an education and research nonprofit based in Washington, D.C. APWA, ASCE, and ACEC established the ISI in 2010. During his career of public service with the city, he led three different departments. He provided leadership and vision for those he led, with an emphasis on fiscal responsibility, efficient project delivery, and continued organizational improvement. A Registered Civil and Mechanical Professional Engineer, Gary received the ASCE State of California Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022. He was also honored by the UCLA School of Engineering with the 2024 UCLA Lifetime Contribution Award. Since 2023, Gary has served as the senior vice president of Psomas, a California-based engineering consulting firm.
