Gary Engle
Gary Engle is executive vice president, national governments, for AECOM in Seattle, WA. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Cleveland State University and a master’s in civil engineering from the University of Michigan.
He had a distinguished 28-year naval career, retiring as a rear admiral. He rose to command the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific Division, and throughout his Navy career managed multi-million dollar budgets in every assignment. He was responsible for some of the largest construction programs undertaken by NAVFAC, from supporting combat troops in Bosnia/Herzegovina to construction of new facilities from San Diego, CA, to Naples, Italy. In 2007, he joined URS and assumed even greater responsibilities.
URS was acquired by AECOM in 2014 and he continued to provide leadership for the company’s federal business line team both in the U.S. and internationally. Gary served as national president of the Society of American Military Engineers, where he is a Fellow, was recognized as NAVFAC Pacific Engineer of the Year, and is a member of Chi Epsilon, the national civil engineering society.
