Garold D. Oberlender
Garold D. (Gary) Oberlender is professor emeritus of construction engineering and management at Oklahoma State University. He earned bachelor and master’s degrees in civil engineering from Oklahoma State University, and a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington.
Gary is widely known in academia and is the author of numerous textbooks and publications on concrete, estimating, and construction engineering and management, among many topics. He worked in the private sector with LTV Corporation for three years early in his career, then transitioned to academia. He first taught at Tarrant County College in Fort Worth, TX, before joining the faculty at Oklahoma State University in 1974. He chaired the undergraduate construction management program at OSU from 1974-81, and then became coordinator of the university’s Construction Engineering and Project Management Program.
He and his wife, Jana, live in Stillwater, OK.
