Gary A. Almeraris
Gary Almeraris is vice president, operations, at Skanska USA, where he has worked for the past 33 years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from City College of New York and a master’s degree from Worcester Polytechnic University. He is a recognized expert in tunneling construction and has made life-long contributions to the heavy construction industry. He is a past president of The Moles and this year received the highly coveted Outstanding Achievement in Construction Moles Member Award. He has been active in the executive committee, the program committee, and the education committee of The Moles. ENR recognized him as a Top 25 Newsmaker in 2012, and in 2016 the City College of New York bestowed on him its highest honor, the Engineering Alumni Career Achievement Award. He has more than 46 years of experience leading major design-build and tunneling projects in New York, Boston, Washington, D.C., and many other locales. Gary is a Professional Engineer in NY, Connecticut, and Massachusetts and is a Licensed Blaster in NY and Massachusetts. He is also a member of ASCE.
