Frank J. Lombardi
Frank J. Lombardi is retired chief engineer of the Port Authority of NY and NJ, a position he began in 1995. He received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from New York University and a BA degree from Queens College. He later earned a master’s in civil engineering/structures from Columbia University. He joined the Port Authority in 1971 and rose through the ranks to the chief engineer position.
He has been active in the Society of Military Engineers (SAME) and other professional organizations. He serves on the board of consultors to Manhattan College, the board of managers of the Columbia University Engineering Alumni Association, and on the board of the Salvadori Educational Center on the Built Environment. He is also an industry professor at NYU Polytechnic University. He is a member of The Moles and has received 15 notable awards.
Frank and Christina have two children. Joseph and Stephanie have a son and daughter. Claudine and John Higdon are pursuing careers. Frank’s hobbies are hiking, cooking, traveling, and occasionally babysitting. Frank, a native of Italy, came to New York at the age of seven. His entire professional career has been spent in the New York City area.
