Don Riley
Don Riley is a retired U.S. Army major general and a senior advisor to Dawson and Associates, a water resources consulting company headquartered in Washington, D.C. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and earned a master's in civil engineering from the University of California-Berkeley.
During his 37-year Army career, Don rose to become senior U.S. engineer in Afghanistan, with previous assignments as the Army Corps of Engineers deputy commanding general and deputy chief of engineers, overseeing more than 37,000 employees and annual expenditures of over $40 billion. Prior to that, Don directed the Corps’ civil works program and was commanding general of the Mississippi Valley Division while also serving as president of the Mississippi River Commission. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), an eminent diplomate-port engineering of the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port, and Navigation Engineers, and a founding diplomate-water resources engineer of the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers.
