Denise Burgess
Denise Burgess is president and CEO of Burgess Services, Inc. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of Northern Colorado. Current projects include partnering with the City of Denver management team on the Colorado Convention Center Expansion and with PCL Construction on the Denver International Airport Baggage Handling System. Her firm also has two affordable housing projects in Denver. The mayor of Denver appointed her to co-chair the Denver Economic Relief and Recovery Council in 2020.
She has chaired the Denver Urban Renewal Authority, served on the AGC Foundation Board, and is a member of the Colorado School of Mines Board of Trustees. She launched the Burgess Family Foundation to fund programs for girls of color interested in STEM careers. She is the first African American Board Chair of the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce.
She has been listed in the Top 25 Most Powerful Women by the Colorado Women’s Chamber of Commerce and in the Network Journal Top 25 Most Influential Black Women in Business in the U.S. Denise is a member of the Colorado Black Business Hall of Fame.
