Dan Johnson
Dan Johnson is president and CEO of M. A. Mortenson Company, headquartered in Minneapolis, MN. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction engineering from North Dakota State University. Dan is responsible for executive management, strategic business planning, succession planning, resource management, and overall business leadership. He has served many roles for the company, including estimating, operations, business development, and senior leadership. Since becoming president in 2015, he has transformed Mortenson from a pure general contractor to a leader in sustainable energy, prefabrication, and innovation. He was involved in the new offices for the company in Milwaukee, Chicago, Phoenix, and Portland. Dan also helped launch the company’s renewable energy business.
Dan is a member of the Construction Industry Roundtable, the Construction Industry Ethics and Compliance Initiative, and the Advisory Board, College of Engineering, North Dakota State University. He is a former board member of the Lean Construction Institute, the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, and Hazeltine National Golf Club. He served on the Hazeltine Executive Committee for the 2009 PGA Championship and the 2016 Ryder Cup
