Collin D. Aikman
Collin D. Aikman is a charter member of the National Academy of Construction. He received a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
He began his career at Union Carbide Corporation in 1957 and rose to become vice president and chief of engineering in over 35 years of service to the company. In 1992, he joined BE&K in the Mobile, AL, regional office and served as general manager of that office for over two years before retiring. During his career at Union Carbide, Collin led the company in developing and implementing the partnering concept for engineering and construction. He shared lessons learned with numerous other corporations to aid their movement into partnering as well.
Collin was active in the Construction Industry Institute, serving on the Board of Advisors as well as serving as Construction Industry Institute (CII) Chairman.
Colin lives in Fairhope, AL.
