Clifford J. Schexnayder
Clifford J. (Cliff) Schexnayder was an eminent scholar at the Del E. Webb School of Construction, Arizona State University from 1994-2003. He holds BSCE and MSCE degrees from Georgia Tech and a PhD from Purdue University.
Cliff served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers beginning in 1967. His last assignment with the Corps was as executive director, directorate of military programs, in the office of the chief of engineers. After retiring from that post, he entered academia.
He began his teaching career at Louisiana Tech University and has taught construction engineering at Arizona State University and as a visiting professor at Virginia Tech, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the Universidad de Piura and Ricardo Palma Universidad in Peru, and the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology.
In the private sector, Cliff has served as chief engineer and officer of the corporation of Nello L. Teer Company in Durham, NC. In 2012, he was honored by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) with the Outstanding Projects and Leaders (OPAL) Award – Education. He is a co-author of two textbooks, Construction Planning, Equipment, and Methods and Construction Management Fundamentals.
Cliff is married to Judy, and they have one daughter and two sons.
