Carole L. Bionda
Carole L. Bionda, retired Nova Group vice president, has served as the first female national president of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). She also is the first female member of the Beavers, served as national president of the Women Construction Owners & Executives, and chaired NCCER. She earned a BA degree from the University of California-Berkeley and a JD degree from Stanford University.
At Nova Group, she led the contracts administration group and negotiates the company’s subcontracts, joint ventures, and DOD contracts while overseeing human resources, equal employment opportunity, and small business participation. Her efforts in Nova’s mentor-protégé program also were notable, wherein Nova helps existing small businesses to maximize federal government contract opportunities. Carole has testified before Congress on behalf of small businesses.
Her family roots in the dairy farming industry, both in Italy and Switzerland and later in California, had little appeal to her and she studied political science and law before joining Nova in 1986. She was a full-time caregiver to her mother during the latter’s two bouts with cancer, and was happy to see her make a full recovery and live another 27 years.
Carole makes her home in the Sonoma County city of Cotati, CA.
