Carlos H. Caldas
Carlos Caldas holds the Gerard A. Rohlich Regents Professorship in Civil Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin Cockrell School of Engineering. He earned a PhD in civil engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Carlos has more than 30 years of experience in construction
engineering and project management. His research includes information technologies and sensors, advanced data analysis techniques, project performance assessment, productivity improvement, knowledge management, and infrastructure systems.
He served as chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Computing Division, the Construction Industry Institute (CII) Academic Committee, and the ASCE Technical Committee on Database and Information Management. He also was a board member of the International Association for Automation and Robotics in Construction (IAARC). He now serves as a specialty editor for the ASCE Journal of Construction Engineering and Management. Honored numerous times, Carlos has received the Researcher of the Year Award, Outstanding Instructor Award, and Distinguished Professor Award from CII. He also was recognized by Fiatech with a Celebration of Engineering and Technology Innovation (CETI) Outstanding Early Career Researcher Award.
