Robert (Bo) Calbert
Bo Calbert is the retired president of the Southwest Division for McCarthy Building Companies. He holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Missouri State University and a master’s degree in construction management from Pittsburg State University. As president at McCarthy, he oversaw the 150-year-old firm’s construction operations throughout the Southwest U.S. He was key in expanding McCarthy’s national growth in solar and renewable energy, water/wastewater treatment, and infrastructure. He also helped in the firm’s workforce development initiative. During 35 years with the company, he served in various positions in both project and executive levels. He has extensive experience in multiple industries, including healthcare, solar, education, semiconductor, water/wastewater, hospitality and entertainment, laboratory, aviation, office, retail, and public works. Bo was picked by ENR as a 2018 Legacy Award recipient. In 2018, he was named a member of the Del E. Webb School of Construction Hall of Fame at Arizona State University for his outstanding contributions to fundraising, construction of its new building, and development of a bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering.
